Following a 6-year absence, the 912 rejoined Porsche’s model range in 1976 as a new entry-level sports car to replace the 914, featuring the chassis from a contemporary 911 paired with a fuel-injected 2.0-liter flat-four engine. This example is one of approximately 2,092 produced exclusively for the U.S. during a 1 year model run only. Additionally this car is one of 500 912E equipped with a power sunroof.
It was reportedly under the care of a long term California owner before being purchased in 2008 by its second owner who oversaw a 3 year, $50K restoration from 2010-2012. Since completion in 2012, this beautiful 912E has traveled approximately 2900 miles and remains in excellent condition. The car was refinished in Black over new light tan leather upholstery and features custom leather dash pad as well as custom leather speaker enclosure. The level of the interior restoration cannot be overstated -it was completed at a cost of $18000+ in 2012!
The restoration summary is below;

If you have not experienced a 912E they are wonderful cars, sporty yet useable, 30+mpg, 4W disc brakes and will cruise on the highway with modern traffic. For serious buyers, we have a 3 inch binder here at the showroom as well as photos documenting the restoration process. The equivalent cost to restore this car to this level today would exceed $71k.
